The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India has accorded the status of Designated National Repository to MCM for anaerobic and extremophilic microorganisms under the Biological Diversity Act 2002 vide its Order No. C-12027/51/2022-CS-III dated 24th March 2026.
